COSMETOLOGY & NAIL TECHNOLOGY INSTRUCTOR
Martie acquired her nail technician license from Ma Chre in 1989. She loved the industry so much; she decided to expand her education at the Toledo Academy of Beauty Culture from 1989 to 1990, completing the full 1800-hour cosmetology program.
She began her career at Ranee of Charlesgate as a cosmetologist, specializing in nail technology. She conducted natural nail services, as well as all types of artificial nail services using an electric file, and chemical and natural hair services.
She continues to keep her education up-to-date, attending several 12-hour advanced nail classes held by Adui, OPI, and Creative Nail. In 2010, she received her South Dakota Cosmetology license by reciprocity and took the eight-hour electric nail file class required by the commission at Salon Centric.
Throughout the years, she has worked for several high-traffic, prestigious salons, practicing all aspects of cosmetology, but still specializing in nail services. After spending over 13 years as a master stylist at JC Penny, she chose to direct her passion and knowledge to the growing professional.
She now has an established career as a senior instructor at Headlines Academy, teaching the nail program, and the eight-hour electric drill certification class required by the South Dakota Cosmetology Commission.
Additionally, she has taught several successful Electric File Certification classes, two Nail Technology classes, and advanced nail care to our aspiring cosmetology students.
I devote myself to my students, doing my best to mold them into the outstanding professionals I know they can be. It gives me more and more joy every day!
