DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION
Cricket Rick was born and raised in a small town in North Dakota. She dreamed of making her passion for hair and beauty a career, so she attended Josef’s School of Hair Design in Bismarck, graduating in 1991. She furthered her knowledge by studying Education at Dickinson State University. Cricket has a diverse background. She has owned and operated several salons in the region – including booth spaces. She also managed Regis salons on the west coast. Cricket’s love for education led her to focus on platform work and salon trainings during the early to mid-90s. Throughout her life, Cricket also had jobs in business management, construction and marketing, but her true love has always been Cosmetology.
This love for Cosmetology brought Cricket to Headlines Academy in October 2013—where she not only teaches students how to cut and bend hair, but about life in general. “Having an open door and listening is very important,” she says.
Cricket enjoys everything about the Black Hills – and in her free time, she can be found mountain biking, hiking, and working out at the gym. She feels incredibly grateful for the second home she’s found at Headlines Academy. “I love everything about my Headlines family,” she says. “This is where I was meant to be.”
I feel very special when students come to me to talk, whether it’s about an amazing haircut they just performed; how nervous they are about a test; or even how to handle a personal life situation.
